Linda La Porte
Bio

Twice chosen among thousands of acts to perform at the prestigious Tribeca Film Festival, Linda La Porte debuted 10 newly written songs which turned the world of cutesy-girl folk rock on it's proverbial ear. With the release of her first self-titled CD this Songwriters Hall Of Fame member is bringing down the house at clubs throughout the city, playing to her growing legion of hardcore fans.

Born and raised in New York City by devout Christian parents, Linda La Porte made her singing debut at the age of seven in the Grace & Hope Mission on the Lower East Side. Much to the dismay of her father, she began her career as a songwriter by learning Black Sabbath and old Aerosmith songs. Ignoring her father's dire predictions of going to hell Linda began playing lead guitar in rock bands.

Now with her acoustic guitar in tow, Linda shares her experiences in songs about religion, relationships and power struggles. Linda's first book of song and poetry was published by Black Spring Press (Ed Galing, Frank Lima, Arthur Knight, Albert Huffstickler, Raymond Mason, Laura Joy Lustig). Before Linda takes her place in rock hell be sure to pick up a copy of her recently released CD.
